“When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” – Anthony Douglas Williams, Author
Hank is my overly energetic, extremely loyal, very affectionate other half. He’s my dog. But more than anything, Hank brings a sense of normalcy to my otherwise intense and often busy training schedule. I’ve learned that finding a balance in life helps me to be more successful on the diving board. After graduating college, I knew going into training for the Olympics that finding balance would be more important than ever. That’s when I got Hank. For me, keeping my commitments to our daily walks, trips to the dog park, and weekly dinners with his ‘friends’ and their ‘parents’ is as important to me as time at the pool.
